About Image Resizer

Our Image Resizer lets you quickly change the dimensions of any image. Whether you need to scale down a photo for social media, resize an image for a website, or enlarge a small image, this tool makes it easy.

Choose between pixel-based resizing for exact dimensions or percentage-based scaling for proportional adjustments. The aspect ratio lock ensures your image maintains its original proportions, preventing stretching or distortion.

All processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never sent to any server, ensuring complete privacy and security.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I resize an image without losing quality?

Downscaling (making an image smaller) generally preserves quality well because pixels are being combined. Upscaling (making larger) can cause some blurriness because new pixels must be interpolated. For best results when enlarging, keep the scale factor under 200%.

What does Lock Aspect Ratio mean?

When Lock Aspect Ratio is enabled, changing the width automatically adjusts the height (and vice versa) to maintain the original image proportions. This prevents your image from looking stretched or squished. You can disable it to set custom width and height independently.

What image formats are supported?

Our resizer supports all image formats your browser can display, including JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WebP, and SVG. The resized image is downloaded as a PNG file to preserve quality.

Is there a maximum image size I can resize?

Since all processing happens in your browser, the maximum size depends on your device's available memory. Most modern devices can handle images up to 50 megapixels without issues. For very large images, you may experience a brief processing delay.
